We are a team of highly motivated and diverse livestock and equine vets working in Herefordshire and the surrounding counties. We are an independent practice which is privately owned and has its roots deep in Hereford’s agricultural history with its first record in 1919. We are a client-facing business and strive to deliver an excellent service from our offices in Hereford, Bromyard and Ledbury and on-farm with our focus primarily on delivering healthcare for your animals; taking a proactive, preventative approach to all aspects of livestock and equine veterinary practice. You will find the Directors of the business on-farm, come rain or shine, working alongside our fantastic team.

Andrew joined as an assistant in 2013, having previously worked for nearly seven years in mixed practice in Leicestershire and Rutland. He graduated from Glasgow University in 2006. He enjoys all aspects of large animal work, particularly disease control and fertility work. When not in wellies, he can be found cycling the hills and lanes of Herefordshire.

Nick joined in 2013, having previously worked in West Wales and Cheshire. He has a particular interest in ruminant systems and helping clients build sustainable businesses through excellent animal health and performance. He completed the Diploma in Bovine Reproduction in 2018 and became a Director in 2017.

Mike grew up locally in Suckley and returned to the area after graduating from Nottingham Vet School in 2011. Following an internship at Three Counties Equine Hospital where he gained his Certificate in Equine Practice, he locumed in Droitwich, New Zealand and the Shetland Isles before settling in Ledbury. He became a Director in January 2022.

Hannah graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2016. She initially spent several years in mixed practice in Tewkesbury before returning to her homelands of Herefordshire and joining Belmont in January 2019.
Hannah enjoys all aspects of equine practice and has completed her certificate in Advanced Equine Practice.
Outside of work Hannah can be found having fun and competing in Working Equitation with her cheeky Welsh Cob, Piglet, or helping with the various animals on the family farm in South Herefordshire. If time allows she also likes to steal her Dad’s Off Road racing car for the occasional weekend of Rallying fun!

Katie joined in January 2024. She graduated from Liverpool Vet School in 2012 and holds a certificate in advanced veterinary practice focused on cattle health and production. Her main interest is dairy cattle, including mastitis, youngstock and infectious diseases, though she loves all aspects of beef and sheep work too.

Ellie joined in September 2021 having graduated from the Royal Veterinary College. Her particular interests are equine internal medicine and all aspects of ambulatory farm work. Ellie grew up in London but prefers the great outdoors so when she is not at work she loves being out in the fresh air taking on new challenges.

Lisa studied at Edinburgh University, graduating in July 2022 and diving straight into the RVC Production Animal Internship as Belmont’s first intern. Lisa is looking forward to exploring all aspects of farm clinical work over the year-long internship program but is particularly interested in developing her skills in youngstock improvement and dairy goat work. Outside of work Lisa enjoys anything that gets her outdoors which would explain why she loves being a Scout Leader!

Dom joined the practice in 2022 having graduated from the University of Nottingham. Throughout his time with us he has developed a keen interest in orthopaedics and enjoys seeing lameness and poor performance cases.
Dom is currently working towards a certificate in Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, and is aiming to complete the Lameness Diagnostics and Therapeutics designation. Outside of work he enjoys spending time riding his Irish Draught, Danny.

Will grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Herefordshire and joined the practice in January 2025. After graduating from Bristol University in 2021, he began his veterinary career in mixed practice in South Wales before gaining experience working across the UK, from Cornwall to Scotland. More recently, Will has spent six months in New Zealand working through the busy calving and mating season. Now back in Herefordshire, Will is keen to get stuck in to the variety of farm veterinary work that the practice offers.
With a passion for ruminant health, Will enjoys all aspects of herd and flock management. Outside of work, he farms alongside his partner and their border collie Fig, and enjoys surfing and skiing when he gets the chance — though he insists skill is optional!

Louise grew up in Gloucestershire and joined the practice in March 2025. She graduated from Bristol University in 2011. Following this she spent the first five years of her veterinary career in Cornwall, followed by a further 8 years in Gloucester. Louise has a strong interest in infectious disease control and herd health. She enjoys the variety of beef, sheep and dairy work. Outside of work Louise has her hands full with her two young children, with the small amount of spare time remaining she enjoys playing netball.

Louisa joined the practice in August 2025, having just graduated from Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine. Throughout Louisa’s time with us, she has developed a keen interest in equine reproduction, including preparing mares for breeding and early pregnancy.
In Louisa’s spare time she enjoys socialising with friends at the pub, walking and travelling.

Mark joined Belmont in January 2021. He graduated from Lancaster University after studying Biological Sciences and took part in an expedition to Chile with Raleigh International followed by working in the veterinary laboratory at Sun Valley (Cargill meats). Mark has recently studied entomology at Harper Adams university, so will happily extol the virtue of Vespula vulgaris or germanica. He enjoys touring the county visiting different farms and farmers, being reminded how pretty the county is and a younger life of holidays on his grandparents North Yorkshire hill farm. Mark has an interest in photography, food and rugby, and thoroughly enjoys dragging his children out for a walk or up a hill.

Emma joined Belmont in June 2022 and is based in our Bromyard office. Emma grew up in North Herefordshire and is an active member of the Herefordshire Young Farmers being Competitions and Club Chairman. In her spare time Emma likes to get stuck in with all the sheep jobs on the farm where she lives, and likes to help out in spring lambing as well as wool wrapping for the shearers. She has 3 dogs which are a mixture of Kelpies and Collies, one of which is a puppy, so she has her hands full.

Lewis joined the practice in July 2025 having graduated from Harper and Keele Vet School. Lewis is part of our farm team and enjoys the large range of farm veterinary work Herefordshire has to offer, in particular he enjoys herd and flock health, fertility management and nutrition.
Outside of work Lewis likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible and takes part in a variety of sports and country pursuits.

Cerys grew up in Herefordshire and joined the practice in July 2025 as part of our Equine Team. She graduated from the University of Bristol in 2025. Cerys is interested in all things to do with equine lameness.
Outside of work Cerys likes to run, and walk her family dog Lexi. Cerys is currently training to run the Manchester Marathon!

Petre was born and raised between the Vineyards Hills in South East Romania. He graduated in 2007 from Bucharest University of Veterinary Medicine. He loves the process of making wine … and the tasting! When he is not testing cattle you will find him on the open roads on one of his motor cycles. Be careful, blink and you will miss him! When he is on farm he is pretty speedy, if the cattle behave.

Caroline joined the Belmont team in June 2022 and is part of the Hereford team, mostly looking after all things stock, equipment and meeting the vets every need as well as putting a shift in on the reception desk when required! Caroline was brought up in Herefordshire and has been around horses from a young age, she now owns two of her own. Outside of work her family keep her busy, she has two daughters and two dogs Molly and Eevee who love nothing more than beach walks.

Lauren grew up in Herefordshire and joined the practice in February 2026. Lauren spent time with BFE as a student before graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2016. Since then Lauren has spent time in equine hospitals and working as an ambulatory equine vet.
Lauren has a wealth of equine experience and is a certificate holder in diagnostic imaging with a keen interest in orthopaedics.
Outside of work Lauren enjoys cycling, hiking and triathlons, as well as walking her dog Tiggy.

Diego is a TB Tester from La Rioja, Spain. He graduated from the University of Zaragoza in 2005. Working in Spain as a Vet in an abattoir and also with large animals close to the small mountain village where he lives, last year he decided to say goodbye to his life in Spain and to join the Belmont Vets team in January 2019. He loves to visit the farms because this reminds him of his family farm back home. He also enjoys being able to drive through woodland to work and being outside in the countryside. He has a passion for all the creative arts, for literature, poetry, design and music. He is also a multi-discipline artist. Above all, he cherishes the time he spends with his wife and two children.

Amanda joined our TB testing team in October 2023, she grew up in Solihull and moved to the area 14 years ago. Known as Mand, she has worked with cattle previously including a stint relief milking before taking a break to start a family.
When not at work you will find her at home with her sheep or either working or walking her four spaniels, Fudge, Wizz, Jet and Roo or riding with her daugther on Bringsty Common.

Tudor comes from Ordea in Romania. He qualified from the University of Cluj-Npoca in 2009 and went straight into clinical Veterinary practice. He was the sole vet on a dairy farm of 400 cows and then came to work in the UK for Eville and Jones doing meat inspection and abattoir work. He trained as a TB tester through XL Farmcare and joined the team at Belmont in February 2018. He lives in the Forest of Dean and in his spare time enjoys exploring the UK and further afield.
Becky Howells

Becky joined the practice in January 2026 as an Approved Tuberculin Tester, having worked in the farming sector since she was 18. Becky grew up on a beef and sheep farm South West Herefordshire before moving North of Hereford to run her own flock of Welsh Mules and Pedigree Border Leicester sheep with her partner.
Outside of work Becky enjoys the shooting season, and has ridden from a young age, currently owning her own Connemara mare. Becky also pulled for Wales in Tug of War and was part of the team when they became UK champions in 2018! When at home Becky enjoys spending time with her dogs, Holly the Cockerpoo and Tonic her working Kelpie and socialising with friends.

Jen joined the Belmont team in December 2021 and has been learning the ropes of TB testing from Petre. Jen was born in Oxfordshire and grew up on an arable farm. In July 2017 she moved with her family to a beef and sheep farm in Woofferton, Shropshire. She has always been involved in agriculture and learnt a lot from working at Hereford Livestock Market. You will often find her working her three spaniels during the shooting season and socialising at her local Young Farmers Club.

Evelyn joined Belmont in August 2021 and is based in our Hereford office, having come to us from a science background after working in the NHS as a laboratory assistant in Microbiology. Evelyn has been involved in horses from a young age. She gained her UK level 2 in coaching riding in 2018 and she is now studying for a Foundation Degree in Equine science in her spare time. Evelyn owns six horses who keep her busy outside of work along with her other interests of walking, military aviation and photography.

Michelle joined as a Receptionist in May 1998, whilst the practice was still "Belmont Veterinary Centre" on Belmont Road, which catered for both small and large animals. She was promoted to Head Receptionist within a few years of starting and stayed under that heading with many other responsibilities added until the businesses split. She now heads up what we all now know as Belmont Farm and Equine Vets as Practice Manager. Along with cooking and socialising she loves a long walk to the pub with a large glass of wine as a reward!

Laura joined the practice in 2017 and is a valuable member of the team. She has a level 3 Extended Diploma in Agriculture. You will find her in our Bromyard office supporting the vets and organising all aspects of TB testing. As well as this Laura manages the practices pharmacies. Laura is also Bromyard offices AMTRA R-SQP. Away from work you will find her down on the farm or walking her dogs.

Emma joined the Belmont team in September 2022 and can be found behind our reception desk in our Hereford office. Emma grew up on her family farm near the Welsh Border and on weekends can be found helping out. She has been a keen horse women show jumping all around the country with her beloved horse Paddy who's now retired. In her spare time Emma loves to socialise with friends.

Sophie joined the practice in July 2019, and is based in our Hereford office, having grown up on a Herefordshire farm. After spending a few years working behind our reception desks in both Hereford and Ledbury, she took a sabbatical and travelled around South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Upon her return she joined the finance team and manages the day to day finances and sales accounts for the business. In her spare time Sophie likes to socialise with her friends and continuing to travel when time allows.

Lucy joined the support staff in July 2020, she started at Belmont in our Bromyard office before moving to work in Ledbury, followed by managing our move from our old Ledbury office to our new premises on Ross Road. Lucy is now Assistant Manager in Ledbury.
Outside of work Lucy stays busy with three horses to look after and playing netball.

Jodie joined the Bromyard team in October 2022, you will find her behind our reception desk. Jodie grew up with a passion for horses and owns her own ex racehorse Archie. Outside of work Jodie loves to go shooting and works her Cocker Spaniel Ted as well as meeting up with friends at the pub and going for long dog walks.

Ronie joined the Belmont team in August 2023, she is based in our Hereford Office. Ronie is a keen equine enthusiast who started riding when she was 4 years old. She enjoys competing on her 8 year old youngster Alfie around the country mainly show jumping.
Away from work and horses Ronie likes to go out walking or running with her dogs.

Ellie joined the practice in February 2026, and is part of the Bromyard reception team. Ellie grew up on an arable farm in Canada. Ellie is currently studying Veterinary Nursing at Hartpury College.
Outside of work Ellie enjoys playing rugby, walking her Doberman and going to the pub with friends.

Lucie joined Team BFE in July 2025 and is based in our Bromyard office. Lucie grew up in Herefordshire and enjoys showing cattle in her spare time. She also owns a small flock of Hampshire Down Sheep.
When Lucie is not on the farm she likes to take part in stand up paddle boarding and rugby when she has the time.

Amber joined the team in September 2023 and you will find her in our Bromyard office. Amber attended Holme Lacy College and has an extended diploma in Equine Management.
When not at work Amber has a keen interest in showing Arabian horses and has Mhoon, Breeze, Spirit and Laylani to keep her busy. When not with the horses Amber enjoys socialising with friends.

Sarah-Jane joined Team BFE Ledbury in December 2023 and is now qualified as an AMTRA L-SQP.
She grew up on a smallholding in North Herefordshire, and attended Hartpury College to study equine. Sarah-Jane is a keen equestrian and has two oldies to keep her busy!
When not with the horses Sarah-Jane , she also has lots of rare breed chickens and ducks which she breeds and enjoys taking them to shows such as the Royal Welsh and the Three Counties!
In her spare time you will find Sarah- Jane helping with the sheep and cattle on the Farm where she lives, particularly at lambing time! Or socializing and enjoying a day at the races!

Will joined from Yorkshire in autumn 2017 and became a Director in February 2025. A farmer's son with strong roots in cattle, he qualified from Edinburgh in 2011. His interests lie in flock and herd health and he loves all things large animal. When not on farm he can be found with his young family or on the rugby field.

Matt is a very experienced farm animal vet, highly motivated by herd and flock health. He likes to work in partnership with clients, helping find solutions that improve farm efficiency, production and animal welfare. He has an interest in all things that ruminate. Matt has been a Director since 2004.

Joe joined the practice in November 2025 having graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020. Upon graduating Joe worked at a farm practice in Wiltshire before moving north to become part of Team BFE. Joe is interested in all things large animal, but enjoys getting out on our dairy, beef and sheep farms.
When Joe is not in work he likes to travel, when in this country he likes to walk and run in the lake district with his partner.

Sally joined the practice in February 2025, after coming to the UK in 2022. Sally grew up on a sheep and cropping farm in Australia and graduated from Charles Stuart University in 2013. She spent a couple of years as a mixed vet in Tropical Queensland before spending some time in New Zealand and locuming around Australia before coming to the UK. Upon her arrival she spent some time in Cornwall and locuming before having her daughter and settling in Herefordshire. Sally's interests lie in beef and sheep, including Herd and Flock health and disease investigation.
Outside of work Sally has a flock of Devon Closewool sheep and enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs Crash the Collie and Bindi the German Short Haired Pointer.

Alice grew up in Herefordshire and joined the practice in September 2016, coming from a sport horse breeding background. She has previously represented the BHHS studbook in the International Young Breeders Championships. Alice looks after the HR side of things for the practice and dabbles a little in the marketing when time allows, but most importantly she is BFE’s in-house cake maker! In her spare time she loves to bake and walk her dogs. She has her hands full at home with her son Harry, Sven the Cocker Spaniel, Luna the Labrador and a house renovation, so she comes to work for a break!

Sybil has been with the practice since 2005. She is the manager of the Bromyard office, all would fall apart without her. If you need to know anything you can just ask Sybs, she is the oracle. When Sybil is not at her desk you can find her relaxing at Butterley, red wine or Prosecco in hand enjoying her beautiful gardens. She also enjoys spending time with her Daughter Lisa, son Robert and new puppy, the adorable Betty. She is the glue of the Bromyard office and we would be lost without her.

Millie joined the Belmont team in July 2019, a very familiar face and voice behind our reception desk in the Hereford office. Millie heads up our reception operations, practice marketing and is a qualified AMTRA R-SQP.
Coming from a farming background and previously working at a local livestock market she knew many clients already. Away from work she spends time on her family farm, enjoys catching up with friends and going to social events.

At Belmont Farm and Equine Vets we are part of the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) Internship program. Every summer we welcome a farm focused new graduate vet to the team. The Intern becomes part of the practice team and will be exposed to a wealth of clinical work with our fantastic client base over their first year with us. Working alongside the RVC we offer a great package of support and learning that will set them up with farm animal skills for the future. For more details please try their website.
